Dodging Bullets

Last week the Congress dodged a government shutdown by passing a Continuing Resolution (CR) that funded the government until December 3. With an October 18 date for a US Government default the Senate passed a $480T increase in the government debt ceiling and the House is expected to pass the increase next Tuesday. While Treasury didn’t give a date when the new ceiling will be reached they indicated it would likely be early December.
